All Candidates Meeting

I want to thank everyone that came out yesterday to the Jensen Centre to attend the Parksville All Candidates Meeting. It was organized and hosted by the very able folks at the Parksville Chamber of Commerce. Well Done to All !

I have to say that 60 seconds is not nearly enough time to fully elaborate one's position on any of the topics addressed, and it was a bit frustrating to be so limited. I understand however that the organizers wanted to limit the event to two hours as those chairs were definitely reaching their "comfort limit" by the end.

I'm pretty sure you in the audience were frustrated as well; not able to hear more from candidates you wanted to learn more about, or that your particular burning issue wasn't covered by the questions or candidates' answers.

That's why I'm putting so much effort into my door-to-door campaign. It's so we can have a good chat if there are burning questions from your side. It affords me the opportunity to give you background on a topic and explain what I would like to do if I am elected to Council. Then you have a better picture of the issue and able to decide if I am worthy of your vote.

[Sidebar; to date my count is 3302 doors over 137 hours covering 134 km with 245,818 steps. My goal now is to hit 4000 doors by election day on October 17.]
